Victoria Primary School in County Down Ireland is using rainwater to flush its toilets. They estimate this will save half a million litres of water each year!

“A County Down primary school has become the first building in the UK to be awarded the top grade in a government energy efficiency scheme. Victoria Primary School in Ballyhalbert's 'A' in the 'Energy Performance Certificate' scheme comes after it was recently rebuilt. It now boasts toilets which use rainwater and its own biomass boiler.”
The Langston Brown Community Center & High School in Arlington, VA has two 11,000 gallon cisterns to store rainwater.

“Langston High School Continuation and Langston-Brown Community Center is a multiuse, multigenerational facility that sets a new standard for facilities in Arlington….. Langston High School was the first building in Virginia to obtain LEED(r) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Environmentally responsible aspects of the site include pervious asphalt in the parking spaces, electric-vehicle charging stations, and a bioretention area. Two 11,000-gallon tanks store rainwater for onsite irrigation, sidewalk washing, and other uses. Waterless urinals also contribute to the project's 23% reduction in potable water use, compared with a baseline model.”
The State of Georgia is still suffering the lingering effects of the devastating drought in 2007. Governor Sonny Perdue has urged all Georgians to cut their water consumption by 10%. The Georgia Governor’s residence is using rainwater for irrigation purposes to help meet that goal.

The Mansion, a three floor, 30-room, Greek Revival style home built in 1967, stands on approximately 18 acres in northeast Atlanta…… Public tours are conducted throughout the year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Reservations are needed for groups of 10 or more.”
